A complete beginner here. Hello!
-
My name on here is Vince and I am new to all forms of game development beyond the old QBasic text adventures I made in the early 90s.
I decided to learn Godot after seeing that even the most skilled developers from other engines need to learn new things when they come to something like this, and I realized that I could also learn, not needing any experience in the industry to try the craft.
The only thing holding me back from learning game design and development is me. So either as a new thing to learn, a new hobby, or maybe the start of something else, here I am! Praise open source and free video tutorials!
A big thank you to all the people who make instructional videos and texts for people like me. It means a lot when people take the time to promote knowledge so freely.
Have a great day and enjoy your time in Godot!

Hello Vince, and welcome to Godot Community pardon the tumbleweed as the site is still rather new.
I had to google QBasic, I thought it was something like Adventure Game Studio, but damn it's much more older. I hope Godot Engine can trigger clicks within you.

Wow, QBasic! I think Godot is a great engine to learn with. The official docs will help out a lot, and like you mentioned, video tutorials are a great resource.
The Godot community is friendly and helpful so I'm sure any questions you might have will be answered. Best of luck!
